Mrs. Alice R. Sumner, 92, 702 West Jefferson Street, died in the John Warner Hospital at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.
She was born in Logan county June 4, 1854, a daughter of Jehu and Margaret Randolph and was married at Midland City in 1874 to Alfred R. Sumner, who died May 9, 1921. A daughter, Iverne, also preceded her in death in 1935.
She is survived by a son, Roscoe R. Sumner, Clinton, and five grandchildren, Harold and Kenneth Sumner, Beason; Mrs. W.M. Meyer, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. George M. Young, Long Beach, Calif.; and Mason Parker, Kenney; also seven great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Clinton Presbyterian Church, the W.C.T.U., and the Fin de Cycle Club. The body was taken to Pullen's Chapel, where it will remain until the hour of the funeral, which will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Lewis MesKimen officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Cemetery near Kenney.
