Jeffray Arthur Wells, age 65 of Stanton, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 16, 2022. He was born on April 5, 1957, the son of Richard Wells and Merrilyn (Rittersdorf) Smith. Jeffray graduated from Central Montcalm High School in 1975. He was employed at Federal Mogul as a Flange Cell Operator and would go on to work there for 40 years. During his employment, he met Kaylene Golliher and they married on November 11, 2002. Since that day, they've always done everything together. Before their retirement from Federal Mogul, both worked their last 7 years on the same line as one another. Jeffray enjoyed working on cars, and shooting guns - especially his 1911 "BBQ" gun as he lovingly referred to it. He was also an avid animal lover, having many pets throughout the years. At one time he even had pigs and goats. Above all, Jeffray was a family man, his family was most important to him. He especially loved spending time with each of his grandchildren. Jeffray is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kaylene Wells; his father, Richard Wells; his children, Alycia Dutchler, Jeffray (Brenda) Wells, Steven (Ariella) Wells, Katherine Wells; stepchildren, Dennis (Darcie) Moody, Jessie Moody; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Deb (Dale) Carnahan, Julie (Garrett) Black, Cindy Train, Denise (Stephano) Nuculovic; and many nieces and nephews. Jeffray was preceded in death by his mother, Merrilyn Smith; brothers, Brian Wells and Steve Wells; sister, Pam Wells. A Memorial Service for Jeffray will take place at Hurst Funeral Home on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 11:00 am. Visitation will take place from 9:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service. Pastor Mike Simmons will serve as officiant. Interment will take place at Langston Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be directed to Spectrum Health Hospice.
