Daughter of Henry Butler Hayes and Elizabeth Jarrett Turnbull Hayes. She was a member of Providence Methodist Church in Toccoa. She was a strong believer in animal rescue and owned many rescue dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bucky Hayes; and two sisters, Sara Nan "Cookie" Bell and Debbie Savage. Surviving are her daughter, Nanci Howard; son, Jeffrey Howard and his wife, Melody; grandchildren, Amanda Howard and Christopher McConnell; niece and grandchildren, Mila, Samuel and Israel Duran and Jayla and Jonah McConnell; and siblings, Henry "Hank" Hayes and his wife, Carolyn, Katie Hale, and Danny Hayes and his wife, Betty.
