Gene was a retired Rooster from the Chester Jaycees, was active several years in Chester Kiwanis, coached football and baseball in the Chester Little League Association, was active with his young children in the Y-Indian Guides and Y-Indian Princess organization. Gene was an active member of Tomahawk Baptist Church. He worked for and served in the Virginia National Guard and retired from DuPont with 43 years service as an electrician and in the fire brigade. He was an outdoor sportsman and loved boating and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay at Gwynn's Island. He loved his family, his church and many friends.
