Dorothy Woods Oldham, a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, left this earth in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, April 28th, 2010, at Valley Center, South Charleston, after a short illness.

She was owner of Dot's Resale shop in Nitro from 1982 to 1992. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Nitro. She was a member of Circle No. 2 and a member of the Sew Happy Quilters. She was member of the order of the Eastern Star. She loved to sew and quilt. She was a wonderful cook and baker, sharing these talents with all those around her.

She loved to play cards at all family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert (Bob) Woods; her parents; two brothers; one sister; and great-grandson, Christopher Garrison.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, John Oldham; son, John (Christy) Woods of Michigan; daughters, Cathy (Len) Welch of Tennessee and Debi (Richard) Spence of St. Albans; brothers, Kenneth Reed of Sod and Harry Reed of Arizona; grandchildren, Robby (Holly) Woods, Wendy (Jack) Garrison, Kelly Welch, Kim (John) Stangenberg, Bobby (Terri) Welch, Beth Linville, Jeremy Spence, Joshua (Sheanna) Spence, and Marybeth (Nathan) Green; great-grandchildren, Gabe Garrison, C J, Malachi, Amelia and Noel Woods, Drew and Erin Williams, Saylor Spence Green; great-great-granddaughter, Rayanne Burch; stepchildren, Mike, Gary and Jeff Oldham, Patricia Stone and Jane Sanson and their families; and her beloved dog, Maggie.

A loving thanks to her caregiver and best friend, Amy Brogan of Nitro, and a heartfelt thank you to her caregivers at Thomas Hospital and Valley Center. A special Thank You to Marian Higginbotham of Hospice for being there.
