CENTRAL, SC - Cora T. Abercrombie, 89, widow of Robert H. Abercrombie, died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at Cannon Memorial Hospital.

A native of Pickens, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Martha Cassell Tompkins. She was a homemaker and was a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving are sons, Robert E. "Gene" Abercrombie and wife, Pauline, of Pickens, Charles Abercrombie and wife, Shirley, of Pickens and Joe Abercrombie and wife, Willene, of Central; a brother, George Tompkins, of Six Mile; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Elton Abercrombie, and a daughter, Martha Stone.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 24, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ALS Association, 1425-113 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh, NC 27610.

Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons, is assisting the family with arrangements.
