A beautiful red-head, Loretta worked in Wisconsin at a high end summer resort. She met and quickly eloped with Abraham Frankenstein when she was 17 and he was 19. She was in the dance company and he was the musical conductor. Abraham tried to divorce her two weeks after the ceremony but failed - either the divorce was not granted by the court or they reconsidered. They moved to Los Angeles where Abraham became the long-time conductor of the Orpheum Theatre orchestra. They divorced in about 1912 and Loretta reverted to her maiden name. She was an excellent seamstress, making her living by the craft after the divorce.
