REDWOOD - Angeline M. Arquitt, 77, longtime resident of Redwood, died Friday afternoon (Aug. 28, 2009) at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown, where she had resided since July of 2008.
She was born May 4, 1932 in River Rouge, Michigan, daughter of William and Fredeline Amyot. She was raised in Hammond, NY and educated in Hammond schools. A marriage to Edwin A. Arquitt ended in divorce.
Angeline worked for many years in the housekeeping departments of several resorts in the area, finishing up her career at the Riveredge Resort in Alexandria Bay. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by three sons; Harold, of Redwood; John and his wife Dottie, Hammond; and Edwin, Hammond; two daughters, Bertha and Theresa, both of Hammond, a brother Morris and his wife Emma May of Hammond, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nieces nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother Henry and a sister Theresa.
Calling hours were held Sunday evening from 6-9 pm at Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay. A funeral mass was said Monday at 11:00 am at St. Frances Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Redwood. Burial was in St. Frances Xavier Cemetery, Redwood. Memorial donations may be made to the Redwood Fire Department.
