Liz was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Derwood, MD, since childhood. She had been active there for many years teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and other ministries. Prior to marriage and motherhood, she enjoyed sports and was a competitive swimmer, league volleyball player, and bowler. Liz was a talented musician and played first chair flute in her school orchestra.
She is survived by her loving mother, Susan McGuire of Bokeelia, FL; two sons from her marriage to Thomas Chedester, Stephen Chedester of Germantown, MD, and Andrew Chedester of Cape Coral, FL, and two stepsons Rhody Andester (Nikki) of France, and Christopher Chedester (Nikki) of Falls Church, VA; sister, Amy McGuire Bartosch (Brad) of Damascus, MD; as well as grandchildren, Aniyah Chedester and Mason Chedester. She was the beloved "Auntie" of Robert and Jordan Bartosch, her young nephews.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved stepfather Robert J. Erkert.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 17740 Muncaster Road, Derwood, MD 20855 with Pastor Sarah Lewis officiating.
