MARIE MACH OBITUARY

Marie Mach

Kewaunee - Marie E. Mach, age 92, a resident of Kewaunee, entered into eternal rest Friday, August 3, 2018 at Bellin Hospital. Marie was born May 21, 1926 in west Kewaunee , the youngest child of late Herman and Caroline (Gruetzmacher) Mach. She was a graduate of Kewaunee High School. Though she never married, she was viewed as a second grandma to her grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was a life long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kewaunee, were she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the Pleasant View chapter of the Kewaunee County Home & Community Education (HCE) for over 50 years and was one of the oldest living members. She worked at Hanson Glove in Kewaunee for a few years and then at the Kewaunee Co-op which later became Piggly Wiggly until her retirement.

Marie was the family historian. She never forgot a birthday or a family name no matter how far back it went. She never had a bad word to say about anybody and she shared what she had. Raspberries and Gooseberries that she grew were at the top of that list. Whenever someone stopped in, she made sure they had something to eat. Whether it was a meal or ice cream, it didn't matter, you weren't leaving without having something. Let's not forget about all the times she got everyone together for the Trout Festival Parades.

She is survived by one niece: Linda Mach (Joe), Kewaunee; three nephews: Roy (Marcia) Kortbein, Mishicot; Gary (Vickie) Pech-Kortbein, Manitowoc; Ronny (Gail) Kortbein, Mishicot; 10 grand nieces and nephews: Jessica (Jacob) Turk, Jeremy Kortbein, Thomas Kortbein, Theresa (Dan) Schwandt, Angie (Jason) Ruether, Kerry Pech-Kortbein (Hannah Otto), Kyle Pech-Kortbein, Conner Pech-Kortbein (Madeline Braun), Travis Kortbein, Cody Kortbein (fiancé Autumn Rivest), 6 great-grand nieces and nephews: Delainey, Samantha, and Danial Schwandt; Andrew Reich, Maximus, and Abigail Ruether. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother brother and sister-in-law: Melvin and Donna Mach, her sister and brother-in-law: Alice and Ludwig Kortbein, and two grand nieces: Cindy and Mindy Kortbein.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Kewaunee with the Reverend Michael Sullivan officiating. Relatives and friends may call after 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the church until the time of service. The Buchanan Funeral Home of Kewaunee is assisting with arrangements.

The Family would like to thank Pastor Sullivan for his visits, the staff at Bellin and Unity Hospice for the care they gave. A special thank you to all the neighbors and friends who visited and helped Marie with varies projects.
