Harvey passed away on June 16, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, in-law, cousin, co-worker, and friend to many. Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Wolf Helm, and his parents, Harvey and Martha Helm. He is survived by his wife, Meredith Duncan Helm, daughter Kelly Helm Masters (David), son Alex Harvey Helm, sister Hannah J. Helm, father-in-law Phillip A. Duncan, mother-in-law Elaine Wolf, brothers-in-law Craig C. Duncan and Rick Wolf (Sandy), sister-in-law Susan Wolf McGoodwin (Robert) and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Harvey was born in Lexington, Kentucky on March 21, 1954. He graduated from Tates Creek High School, class of 1972, and continued on to Georgetown College followed by the University of Kentucky where he received a degree in Engineering. He began his lifelong career at GRW Engineers while still in college and later became Senior Vice President and head of the Civil Engineering division. One professional focus he particularly enjoyed was specializing in horse racetracks. As a result, he had a major impact on tracks such as Keeneland, Belmont, Turfway Park and several local farms. Harvey loved his family, friends, GRW, UK football and basketball, and Keeneland. He was always involved in his children's sports and other activities, whether coaching, cheering from the audience, or supporting behind the scenes. Harvey played volleyball, racquetball, tennis, and basketball. He was good at all but would say he excelled at none. His sense of humor, wit, mentorship to co-workers, and kind service to his friends and family were the guiding principles of his life. Harvey accepted all situations with grace and dignity, and he will be forever loved and missed by those he leaves behind. A memorial visitation for Mr. Helm will be 4-7pm Thursday, June 23 at Kerr Brothers-Harrodsburg Rd.
