Patricia S. Bernhardt, age 75, a Manitowoc resident, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Walnut Grove Assisted Living in Fond du Lac.

Pat was born on April 24, 1935 in Fond du Lac to the late Loren and Frances Miller Hetzel. She graduated from Tri County High School in Plainfield with the class of 1952. Pat had lived in Fond du Lac for over 25 years before moving to Manitowoc. On April 4, 1980, Pat married Harland O. Bernhardt in Manitowoc. Harland preceded her in death on January 21, 2005. She was employed with Paragon Electric until her retirement in 1997. Pat enjoyed spending her time doing needle point, assembling puzzles, solving crossword puzzles, and spending time with her friends at Hermits Hide-Away. Pat and her late husband Harland also loved to travel. They had the opportunity of travelling the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada. She was a member of the Manitowoc Eagles Auxiliary and Lakeshore United Methodist Church in Manitowoc.

Survivors include five children: Bradley (Sue) Billman, Fond du Lac; Brian (Linda) Billman, North Fond du Lac; Thomas (Judy) Culshaw, Appleton; Keith Bernhardt and his significant other: Linda Johnson, Elmwood; and Kim Bernhardt and his fiancé: Lori, El Mirage, AZ; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one brother: Loren "Bo" (Pat) Hetzel, Ripon; two brothers-in-law: Ralph (Grace) Bernhardt, Manitowoc; and Alton (Gertrude) Bernhardt, Black River Falls; one sister-in-law: Lucille Monfils, Oshkosh; two very special friends in Jerry Kasten and Clyde Ahlschwede, both of Denmark; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents: Loren and Frances Hetzel; husband: Harland; one sister: Donna Rau; one grandson: Taylor Billman; and one brother-in-law: Jack Rau.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 5 pm until 8 pm. The visitation will continue on Wednesday at Lakeshore United Methodist Church, 411 Reed Avenue, Manitowoc from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am. The Rev. Thomas Dunham will officiate with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum.
