Frances Virginia Speer Williams, 103, formerly of Bearden, born September 9, 1919, died peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2022, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Williams, her son, Tommy Williams, her daughter, Susie Gibson, and her grandson, Ben Gibson.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn and Bill Wellons of Little Rock, her son-in-law, Keith and Jill Gibson of Fort Smith, her daughter-in-law, Sandra Williams of Dickson, Tennessee, and her beloved grandchildren Paul and Kristy Williams, Bill and Hillary Wellons, Sarah and Fred Wood, Ben and Sarah Baker Wellons, Amy and Ryan Tharp, Allison Gibson, Leah Gibson, as well as her great grandchildren Andrew and Grace Wood, William Wood, David Wood, Jacob Wood, Lily Wellons, Emma Wellons, Witt Wellons, Noah Wellons, Hallie Wellons, Anna Wellons, Katie Wellons, Lucas Gibson, Caroline Gibson, Elliott Tharp, Zadie Tharp, Lillian Tharp, Bryce Williams and Trevor Williams. Frances was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Frances was active in church and community and loved volunteering in the Bearden School Library and the Ouachita County Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a great cook and an amazing seamstress. Frances dearly loved family gatherings and caring for her grandchildren who will always cherish many wonderful memories with Mama Fran.
