Borchardt, Caroline

Caroline Borchardt, 84, a resident of the Hamiltion Care Center, of Two Rivers, entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Care Center. Caroline was born April 28, 1928, in Mishicot, to the late Andrew and Catherine Gaca Shedlosky and has been a lifelong area resident. She married Raymond Popp who preceded her in death, and she later married Wilbert Borchardt on July 19, 1975. She farmed for many years in the area, and also worked for the Mirro Corporation as a machine operator, until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. She and her husband enjoyed polka dancing, fishing, going out to breakfast. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Wilbert; one daughter, and son-in-law, Debbie and Don Johanek, Mishicot; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Glenn and Bette Popp, Manitowoc;, Gary and Debbie Popp, Two Rivers; four step-daughters, Sandra and Gary Brandenburg, Debra and Dick Kuchenbecker, both of the town of Morrison; Pamela Schlender, Green Bay; and Gloria Burt, De Pere; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother, Robert (Marla) Shedlosky, Illinois. In addition to her parents and her first husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Private family funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2012, at the Knollwood Mausoleum, with the Reverend Kay Richter officiating, with entombment to follow in the mausoleum. The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot, assisted the Borchardt family with funeral arrangments.
