Linda attended Tipton High School. She then went on to earn a degree in Accounting from Indiana University Kokomo. Through the years, Linda worked for Farmers Loan and Trust, holding positions of Head Teller and Branch Manager. She retired from Harris Bank in Tipton after 37 years of service. Linda also kept herself busy raising her family, being the wife of a farmer, and selling Avon. She worked hard, never hesitating to roll up her sleeves and work wherever needed; even if that meant driving a tractor in the field. She did it all and made it look easy!
Linda's faith was important to her. She had attended Sharpsville United Methodist and First Baptist in Tipton. Recently, Linda had become a member at East Union in Atlanta and very much enjoyed attending church with her husband, Fritz. In Linda's spare time she liked to play cards and bingo. She was a member of Helping Hands in Sharpsville and enjoyed volunteer work. Linda's favorite place to be was a family gathering. She was a very loving mother and grandmother, as well as a faithful friend for anyone that needed her. Linda always made it a point to make sure her loved ones were taken care of and knew how much they were loved. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Those left to carry on Linda's legacy of love are her husband, Fritz Burkhardt; children, Donna Lou (Steve) Dickhoener, Dennis Wayne (Cindy) Amsbury, Lisa Gay (Maurice "Ferg") Ferguson, Diana Lynn Padgett; grandchildren, Brian (Katrina) Tragesser, Lynn (Abron) Buckner, Jeff (Jenni) Tragesser, Nathana Dickhoener, Makesha (Dave) Duncan, Adam (Sara) Amsbury, Christopher Morris, Cory Morris; great grandchildren, Abigail, Brianna, Chloe, Blake, Brycen, Brayleigh, Brody, Nathalie, Keegan, Aimin, Amara, Shaylan, Marika, Xavier, Tyler, Taylor, Kayley, Tia; sister, Gwen Morris; sister in laws, Wilma Shupperd, Sharon Ames; brother in law, Edward Quear; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Linda was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Basil & Icie Shupperd, first husband, Donald Amsbury, and siblings, Alice Reecer, Phillip Shupperd, Robert Shupperd, Larry Shupperd, Sally Yuill, Betty Cunningham, Bernice Johns, Charles Shupperd; and sister in law, Doris Quear.
