Marie Elizabeth Jeanne Bar was born at New Orleans about 1720, the daughter of Jean Bar (dit Lionois) and Perinne Davy. On 18 July 1740 at the St. Charles Parish church, she married Francois Trepagnier (1717-1760), son of Claude Trepagnier (1671-1724) and Genevieve Elizabeth Burel (1686-1739), two of the early founders of the Louisiana colony. Marie Elizabeth Jeanne Bar was the mother of at least eight children: Susanna, Jean Baptiste, Francois II, Pierre, Perrine, Marie Anne, Elisabeth and Marguerite.
