MARGARET WOODS

Margaret Pauline Woods, 86, died peacefully of natural causes Sept. 13, 2010, with her loving husband and daughters by her side, under the care of Wickersham House Assisted Living in Wasilla.

Margaret was born Jan. 7, 1924 in Denver, Colo. Marge married Robert Woods Feb. 15, 1942 in Fairplay, Colo. She lived in Renton, Washington until 1942 and moved to Denver. They moved to Anchorage in 1946, Moose Pass in 1950, Soldotna in 2005 and to Palmer and Wasilla in 2007. Marge spent her years in Moose Pass raising her children, helping with the family business and taking good care of her husband, Bob.

Her family said Marge loved baking desserts and puttering with gardening, and enjoyed all species of birds that flitted around the bird feeders.

"She was a loving, kind, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother," they wrote.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Woods, daughter Margie and son-in-law Larry of Palmer, daughter Ruth Moorcroft of King Salmon, seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters Betty Hardy of Tustin, Calif., and Peggy Jones of Hill City, Kan., sister-in-law Betty Ames of Kenai, many nieces, nephews and so many dear friends.

Marge was preceded in death by her son Roy Woods, and grandsons Douglas and Ralph Moorcroft

Per her request, no services are being held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mat-Su Home Care and Hospice, 950 E. Bogard, Suite 132, Wasilla, AK 99654 or to the charity of donor's choice.
