Born May 2, 1939, to Marion and William Stadtmauer in Passaic, N.J., he graduated from Rutgers University in 1962 and enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry as a business owner. Fred moved to Georgia, after his retirement in 2010. A lifelong NY Mets and Giants fan, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Deborah Abel (Eric); son, Dr. Kenneth Stewart (Patricia); and grandchildren, Jacob, Eliana, and Cole Abel, and Harrison, Noah, and Myles Stewart.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, with Rabbi Scott Colbert officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org; or The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, www.aspca.org.
