He graduated from Central Catholic High School and enlisted in the US Army where he served as a cryptographer. After being honorably discharged Phillip attended and graduated from St Mary's University and English at John Marshall High School. Later he was awarded at master's degree in American History. From 1970's-2014 he was a History Professor at Alamo Community College during nights and weekends. 1980's-2020 he was a truant officer in the San Antonio ISD. Phillip worked to two jobs provide for his children's education and activities that his wife was involved with in helping. He was always willing to care and provide for many family members.
He leaves behind his children, Susana Elia and Carlos Lazaro and 2 grandchildren and siblings.
