Obituary:

Richard Heidt, aged 67, passed away after an extensive battle against esophageal cancer on November 1, 2022. He was born in Erie, PA on February 4, 1955, the son of Richard F. and Eileen C. (Weschler) Heidt.

Rich is survived by his wife Barbara Brann; his daughter Chelsea Heidt and her husband Michael De Stefano of Washington, DC; stepdaughter Kaitlyn Brann of Park City, UT; stepson Dylan Brann and his wife Becky of Los Angeles, CA, and stepdaughter Jessica DenHeeten of Denver, CO.

Rich worked at H&R Block for over 40 years before retiring in 2012, and then for EMTA for almost 4 years.

Rich loved to travel and loved animals, especially his many German Shepherds. He was an avid SCUBA diver for 20 years, eventually becoming an instructor and part-owner of FantaSeas Water Gear in Erie. He also earned his Private Pilot License in 1978.

Friends are invited to the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2502 Sassafras St. Erie, PA 16502 on Friday from 3 pm until 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 am at St. Patrick's Church. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com.
