Gloster, Miss., Nov. 20. -- Funeral services were held from the City Baptist church Thursday for Dempsey B. Butler, aged 37 years, native and resident of this place, who was killed Wednesday morning at Good Hope, La., in the railroad years, when he accidentally fell beneath the wheels of a moving train. The Rev. Dr. Cox, Baptist minister, conducted the services for Mr. Butler, who as the son of the late D. M. Butler and wife, Minnie Tatum Butler, and was born and reared in Gloster, but for the past ten years had been in the employ of the railroad as a flagman, and was stationed in Louisiana engaged in operating cane trains.

He is survived by his wife, who was the former Miss Jane Mae Newman, of Norwood; one child, Jimmie; two sisters, one brother and his mother.
