Robert Edwin "Bob" Todd, age 84, of Manassas, Virginia passed away on July 22, 2021, at Prince William Medical Center in Manassas.

Bob was born Sept 2, 1937, in Cokeville, Pa, the son of Robert Roscoe Todd and Margaret Shontz Todd.

He graduated from Conneaut Lake HS, Conneaut Lake, Pa in 1955 and earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served aboard the submarines USS Sea Leopard and the USS Thomas Jefferson.

He spent 45 years in the shipbuilding business. He was employed by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company, Newport News, VA where he helped design many ships including the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise and the nuclear submarine USS Thomas Jefferson on which he later served for several years. Other employment included the Coast Guard Headquarters. in Washington, DC; Naval Sea Systems Command (NSSC); Contractors George G. Sharpe, Inc, and NAVSEA support contractor ICI Services.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Todd of Manassas; sisters Joyce (Scott) Ladner of Conneaut Lake, Pa., and Darlene (Chet) Bernosky of Linesville, Pa; nephew Tim (Jeanne) Ladner of Danville, Pa; niece Jodi (Ken) Stevens of Conneaut Lake, Pa; nephew Matt (Heather) Bernosky of Cambridge Springs, Pa, and nephew Philip (Michele) Bernosky of Pittsburgh, Pa. Also surviving are great nephew Jarrett Stevens, great nieces Hannah Ladner, Abigail Ladner, Sarah Stevens and son Levi Stevens Jackson, Brooke Bernosky and Ava Bernosky.

Bob's hobbies included fishing, camping, hiking, gardening, and genealogy. He was a member of the SAR, Sons of the American Revolution.

Memorials may be made to the Crawford Co Historical Society, 871 Diamond Park, Meadville, Pa. 16335.

A memorial service will be held on August 18th in Manassas, Virginia at 3 pm at Pierce Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 9609 Center St. Manassas, VA.
