Amanda Denson Brady, 66, of Birmingham, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 in Greenville, GA. She was born Nov. 20, 1941 in Tuscaloosa to William Howard Denson and Marjorie Goodwin Denson Fowler.She enjoyed a deep, lifelong commitment to Sacred Harp music, a popular religious folk music sung acapella in four part harmony. She was integral in introducing Sacred Harp to other regions of the country outside the Deep South, particularly the Washington D.C. area where she lived for nine years. She also loved to travel and lived in Barbados, Iceland and Wales.She was preceded in death by her parents.Survivors include her beloved children, Jim (Mary) Brady of Alexandria, VA, the Rev. Mandy Brady of Newnan, GA, Tim (Erica) Brady of Clemson, SC, Howard (Meghan) Brady of Old Saybrook, CT; eight grandchildren, Colin Denson, Emily McGuire, James Gabriel, Garrett Denson, Kendall Denson, Grace MacInnis, Katelin Pearl and John Joseph; a brother Dick Fowler of Marietta, GA and a sister Kathy Savelli of Springfield, VA.
