Florence was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on June 12th, 1902, daughter of the late Marion Alvin and Lennie Ellen Girdler Stone. Florence was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Florence was survived by three sons, Edward L. King. Euford C. King, and Jackie W. King; one daughter, Pauline Hurston; one brother, Orville Stone; one sister, Irene Vaught; thirteen grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Alvin Stone, who departed this life on September 7th, 1937 and Lennie Ellen Stone, who departed this life on February 12th, 1931; her loving husband of nine years, John William King, whom she married in Somerset, Kentucky on November 25th, 1925 and who departed this life on September 11th, 1935; two daughters, Myarl Louise King, who died in infancy on December 2nd, 1927 and Lucie A. King, who died in infancy on October 17th, 1932; one sister, Stella Stone, who died in infancy on August 26th, 1900; and two brothers, Cyrus McKinley Stone, who departed this life on February 3rd, 1965 and John Otto Stone, who departed this life on July 28th, 1967.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6th, 1976 at the West Somerset Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Hinson officiating. The Somerset Undertaking Company was in charge of arrangements for Florence.
Burial followed in the West Somerset Baptist Church Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.
