She was married to Cecil "Woodrow" Summers (1916–1996) on September 13, 1941 in Gallatin, Sumner County, the son of Alice (Honeycutt) (Summers) Neal (1897–1986) and her 1st husband Joe J Summers (1894–1932).
Last residing in Ashland City, Cheatham County, Tennessee, Ruth was 93 years old and a widow when she passed away on April 23, 2010.
Survivors included two married sons, two married daughters, ten grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and a 2nd-great-grandson.
Funeral Services were held on April 26th at West Harpeth Funeral Home, and burial - as confirmed by a phone call on November 10, 2022 to the cemetery's administration office - was in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, Nashville.
