Albert J. Coles, formerly of Avoca, died early Sunday morning at his home, 50 Butler Street, Wyoming. For many years he was employed as a mine forman at the Westmoreland Colliery of the Lehigh Valley Coal Company.
Mr. Coles was born at Avoca and 27 years ago moved to Wyoming. He was widely known in Luzerne and Lackawanna counties. He was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church of Avoca. In 1913 he was married to Elizabeth Craig.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Maurian; three sons, Albert, Alexander and Robert; his mother, Mrs. Albert Coles of Avoca; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Sellers of Media, and Mrs. Edward Hoeing and Mrs. Edward Roth of Philadelphia.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. A. D. Behrends and the Rev. G. G. Summerson officiating. Interment will be in Hughestown Cemetery.
