Son of Wesley Delow "Mike" Huitt & Ollie Minnie Dye (both buried at this cem.); he had the following siblings: Fred O. Huitt (buried at this cem.), Maude who married Edmond White, Mae who married Bedford Dawes, Beatrice "Bea" Huitt who married Harve Hendricks; Myrtle who married Arnie Bowden, Nancy Carol who married Harley Robertson and Joe Marks, Jacqueline who married Melvin Cottingham, Henry Huitt, and Wallace Huitt who married Ruth Carman.

He married abt 1942 and then later divorced (1) Gladys Marie Post; they had the following children: Alice Faye who married Daniel W. Preston Sr., and Jerry Richard Huitt Sr. (buried at this cem.).

He married (2) Elizabeth Marie Phipps (buried at this cem.); they had the following children: Dickie Lee who married Minnie "Pattie" Morse, Mike Kevin who married Glinda Johnson, and Joe Phipps Huitt b.& d. 15 Oct 1962 (buried at this cem.).

He had the following grandchildren: Daniel W. Preston Jr., Jerry Richard Huitt Jr., Stacy Huitt Wilson, Alissa Huitt Backes, and Josh Huitt.

Dick had retired from Arkhola Sand & Gravel at Ft. Gibson, OK after over 30 years as a heavy equipment operator; in his spare time he did horseshoeing. He loved horses and was at one time a member of the Muskogee Roundup Club and participated in their rodeos in the calf-roping event. He was a true cowboy who never met a horse he didn't like.
