Stanley D. Adams, Sr., age 84, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Hamilton Hospital in Olney. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Stanley was born December 30, 1937, in Olney, Texas to the late James Coleman Adams, Sr. and Thelma Nadine (Enloe) Adams. He was a lifetime resident of Olney and a member of the Church of Christ. He graduated from Olney High School in 1956 where he was an avid football player for the Cubs. Stanley was a very good cook and worked for Furr's Cafeteria in Albuquerque, New Mexico for several years. He later became an Oilfield Consultant until his retirement. He married
Doris Juanita Williams in 1965. She preceded him in death on June 21, 2019. Stanley was an avid fisherman, enjoyed watching college football and was very good at woodworking. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. Above all, he loved his family and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers: Cecil Adams and James Adams; and one sister, Lois Adams.
Stanley is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Caryn and Rick Dinwiddie of Olney; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Russ and Shannon Adams of Olney and Stanley Drew Adams, Jr. of Odessa; two step-daughters: Pam Shurley of Midland and Stella Burton of Kermit; numerous grandchildren along with numerous great-grandchildren.
