Joan Margaret Keenan
December 16, 1935 - November 13, 2022
Joan Margaret Keenan, a proud San Francisco native, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2022. Predeceased by her parents, James I. and Aileen A. Keenan, and by her loving nephew and godson James P. Keenan.

Joan was a graduate of Notre Dame Des Victoires and St. Rose Academy. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Francisco State and a Master in Gerontology from University of San Francisco. She was a loyal and dedicated employee of University of San Francisco for over 50 years, retiring as Director of Accounts Payable.
Known for her wit, humor, and wonderful laugh, she was a great storyteller and family historian. Joan was kind and generous. She volunteered her time to charities for many years, including Little Sisters of the Poor.
Joan was a world traveler, visiting every continent except Antarctica (which was on her list). She and Norman enjoyed traveling together, including 47 cruises. Joan enjoyed spending time at the Lake Tahoe family cabin. She delighted in spending good times with friends and family. Joan will be dearly missed.
A Mass celebration will be held on Friday November 18, 2022, at St. Cecilia Church, 2555 17th Avenue, San Francisco. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 300 Lake Street, San Francisco, CA 94118.
