Hazel Dell Johnson, 91, 3700 28th St., Lot 180, died Saturday in a Sioux City hospital after a sudden illness. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday In Morningside Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Arthur K. Beumler will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside. Mrs. Johnson, the former Hazel Dell Penn, was born March 1, 1892, in Shelby, Iowa, and moved to Correctionville, Iowa, at an early age. She married Guy E. Ashmore Jan. 26, 1910, in Correctionville. They moved to Sioux City in 1935. He died July 4, 1947. She married K. C. Johnson May 1, 1955, in Sioux City. He died May 10, 1959. She worked at the Ellis Grocery for several years and also at the W. Harry Christy Funeral Homes. She was a member of Morningside Presbyterian Church and Christedelphians for several years. Survivors include one son, Willard Ashmore of Sioux City; two sisters, Alice Creekmur of South Gate, Calif. and Marian Kramer of Perris, Calif.; four grandsons; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
