Dr John Harmanson Foushee
Born in VA about 1776 and died Nov 1812 in VA.

Son of Dr. William and Elizabeth Isabella (Harmanson) Foushee Sr. He is their first-born child.

Brother of:
1) Nancy Foushee; died March 1796; never married.
2) Margaret Foushee; married William C. Parker.
3) Elizabeth Foushee; married Richard E. Parker.
4) Charlotte Foushee; married Dr. William Carter.
5) Isabella Foushee; married Thomas Ritchie.
6) Dr. William Foushee Jr.; married Lucy Lawrence.

John H. Foushee became a doctor like his father and his younger brother William Jr. John practiced medicine with his father William Sr. There are several newspaper articles advertising them together in Richmond.

Proof of his middle name comes from his Aunt Charlotte Foushee Neilson's Will of Feb 17, 1791. Charlotte specifically states her nephew John Harmanson Foushee and her brother Dr. William Foushee of Richmond, VA.

He predeceased his father. Obituary notice found in the Virginia Patriot newspaper dated 1812-11-17.

During his life he also became a Delegate to the General Assembly in Richmond VA in 1806.

I could find no information that he was married during his life but that does not mean he never was.

NOTE: Others have confused this John H. Foushee with his grandfather, Capt John Foushee Sr and/or his uncle John Foushee Jr. Capt John Foushee Sr (married 3x to Elizabeth Dawson, Winifred Yeates, and Sarah Ann Garlington Hack) and his son John Foushee Jr (married to Aphia) do not have a middle initial of H.
If you have made Capt John Foushee Sr and/or John Foushee Jr with a middle initial of H, you should remove it.

Additional Notes: There is a Northumberland County, VA marriage record of a John H. Foushee to Nancy Garlington Cralle on July 4, 1791. Nancy was the widow of Kenner Cralle who died 1785. Kenner's Will specifically names his sister Mary (Cralle) Foushee (husband James Foushee born 1729).
I believe this John H. Foushee to be the son of James and Mary (Cralle) Foushee who lived in Northumberland County, VA and not the John Harmanson Foushee son of Dr William Foushee who lived in Richmond VA.
John H. Foushee (born July 3, 1753) and his wife Nancy had a son Griffin Henry Foushee born on Jan 25, 1793 in Northumberland County, VA.
James and Mary (Cralle) Foushee had a second son named Frederick Foushee born Dec 21, 1754. Frederick married a woman named Ann and their first born, a daughter, was named Elizabeth Griffin Foushee. That shows two known sons of James and Mary (Cralle) Foushee, John H. and Frederick, naming their first-born child with the name Griffin. I do not know what the significance of the name Griffin is.
