Larry Edward Fugate, age 66 of Goodlettsville, passed away at Skyline Medical Center on November 20, 2022.

He was born on May 24, 1956, to the late LD and Golda Marie Edwards Fugate in Detroit, Michigan. Larry was a patriot through and through and loved his country. He joined the United States Army in October of 1973. He believed it was his duty as an American to serve the nation that gave him so much. After his honorable discharge he became an iron worker for over 40 years before retiring to spend more time with his family.

Larry was the historian of the family. He had traced his lineage back generations. He was an active member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He served as the first Captain of the 1st Battalion Company A Tennessee of the Mechanized Calvary, #281. He loved riding his motorcycle and sketching. Larry grew one of the prettiest vegetable gardens around. He knew exactly what to plant and where to make sure he was able to feed not only his family but friends as well. Larry enjoyed watching TV to catch up on the latest from Fox News. He also enjoyed watching the Tennessee Titans, Nashville Predators, and Austin Dillon of NASCAR. Years ago, you would find him most nights at the White House Blue Devils Football games or at a Blue Devils wrestling match supporting his grandson. On weekends you would find him researching genealogy and playing with his great granddaughters, Ellie and Elsie.

Larry will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather "Gramps", great-grandfather, brother and friends to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his grandson, Austin Grissom and siblings, Lyle Fugate and Misty Skinner Woodard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Kathy Fugate; children, Dawn Fugate, Joshua Fugate and Crystal (Kenneth) Grissom; grandchildren, Mackenzie "Mac" Burns, Jolaia Fugate, Jelyce Fugate, Aubrey Fugate, Dylan (Regan) Grissom, Brandon (Jacey Burch-Carter) Grissom, Kelsi Breeden; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Elise Grissom; siblings, Linda (Michael) Johnson, Les (Kim) Fugate, Lloyd Fugate, Sr., Kevin (Ron Brandenburg) Fugate, Albert Skinner, Jr., and Lisa (James) Locke; brother-in-law, Woody Woodard and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
