Major General G.M. Barnes was the US Army's chief of ordinance research and development during World War II. He published a rather comprehensive book of all armor, artillery, weapons, munitions, etc. that his department conceived, tested and delivered to win WW II. Noted for many decisions which still impact the world today. "The Father of Modern Day Computers," he commissioned the ENIAC to be built at University of Pennsylvania and established White Sands, NM as the US Army's missle testing range.

He was the son of Frank BARNES and Selinda LaCROSS
