Patricia (Toronto) Aldighieri of Cornish, NH, passed away on January 16th, 2021 with her beloved granddaughter, Alexandra Morley, and niece, Gaynell Ciccarelli, holding her hands.

Patricia was born on November 26, 1935 to Angelina and Peter Toronto in Lodi, NJ. After graduating from Lodi High School, Patricia attended Berkeley Secretarial School in New York City and pursued a career as a confidential secretary with ITT Laboratories in Nutley, NJ.

Patricia met the love of her life, Rudolph Aldighieri, at his father's gas station in Ridgefield Park, NJ, and on October 3, 1959 they were married. They raised their four children Robin, Kristin, Tracey, and Mark in New Jersey and North Carolina before moving to Windsor, VT, where, for 30 years, they operated the Windsor Station Restaurant and Depot Square Deli and Catering.

At the Windsor Station, Pat graciously welcomed customers, many of whom became friends. She often hostessed with a baby in her arms, so parents could enjoy a quiet meal, and her desserts – apple crisp, rice pudding, biscotti – are legendary. Windsor Station waitresses, bartenders, and chefs became a part of her family. She taught some to bake, others to crochet and always provided a loving shoulder and motherly counsel to all. Many considered Patricia their second mother.

Patricia enjoyed spending time in Wellfleet on Cape Cod and on Beebe Pond in Hubbardton, Vermont. She traveled extensively with Rudy throughout Europe and with her cousin, Lois, and Lois' husband, Fred, to Italy, Alaska and quaint New England B and B's. She fulfilled a dream by spending several weeks in Luca, Italy in 1999 with her children and their families and friends. Once Pat and Rudy retired to Cornish, NH, Pat began painting lessons and passionately produced art that became gifts and greeting cards.

Most important to Nana were her seven beloved grandchildren with whom she adored. She treasured the moments with them creating lasting memories of baking, reading books, shopping, sharing family stories, and watching movies. Memories that will live in their hearts forever.

Patricia (Toronto) Aldighieri is pre-deceased by her parents, Angelina and Peter Toronto, her brother, Peter Toronto Jr., and her two sisters, Mildred and Rose Ciccarelli. She is survived by her beloved husband, Rudolph Aldighieri; her sister-in-law, Marie Aldighieri; daughters Robin Morley-Ploof (Randy) of Windsor, VT, Kristin Crosby (Tim) of Boston, MA, Tracey Fortier of Amesbury, MA; and son Mark Aldighieri (Dana) of Columbia, SC; her grandchildren, Cameron and Alexandra Morley, Matilda Crosby, Elizabeth and Anna Fortier, and Fiona and Jack Aldighieri; her sister Grace Biegel of Hackensack, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a Post-COVID celebration of life, to be announced. There was always an extra seat at Pat's dinner table and because of her passion for "family, friends and food" donations may be made, in lieu of flowers, to: The Community Resource Room and Food Pantry, Town of Plainfield, PO Box 380, Meriden, NH 03770.

Knight Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences to Pat's family may be made in an online guestbook found at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
