Bernhardt, Mary Ann - Age 54 Of NE Minneapolis Born Dec. 1, 1949. Grew up in St. Paul's Rice Street area. Passed away Oct. 18, 2004 after a valiant battle with cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Mary Bernhardt; sister and brother-in-law, Frances 'Pinky' & Marshall McGraw; nephew, Roger McGraw; great nephew, Matthew McGraw. Survived by loving husband, John 'Jack' Ready; step daughter, Robin Berg; step grandsons, Cortland Wheeler, Quinten and Trygve Berg; brothers, Albert and Robert Bernhardt; favorite aunt, Millie Hempel; adopted Bahamian family, the Bethels; special mention adopted sister, Sylvia; adopted sons, Angelo and Torry; best friend, Margaret Vinje; in addition, many close friends, Beverly Peterson, Joyce Noyes, Marti Goth, Dennis Peterson, Linda Lauhon and others too numerous to mention, world wide. Mary had an associate degree in advertising, was a Senior Representative at a market research company, a certified tax preparer and a travel agent. She enjoyed traveling the world, especially the Caribbean and the South Seas, in particular the village of Naigani in Fiji where she and her husband recently traveled to bring the villagers much needed household goods. Mary had a big heart and was very generous, always there for her many friends any time of the day. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her generosity, compassion, caring, curiosity, quick wit and zest for life. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Wilkowske and the Allina Hospice team members.
