Enid A. Cechvala (nee Davidson) age 87 of West Bend died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Cedar Crossings. She was born April 2, 1923 in Weyauwega, WI to the late David and Sarah (nee Potratz) Davidson and married Edward A. Cechvala on August 29, 1946 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Michael's. Edward preceded her in death on August 16, 2005.

Enid started her teaching career in a one room school house in the Town of Farmington. Following her marriage she suspended teaching to raise her family before becoming a 1st grade teacher at St. Frances Cabrini School for 8 years. She then taught 6th grade at Badger Middle School in West Bend until retiring at the age of 72. While teaching, she was also a student, earning her masters degree in reading.

Survivors include her 7 children: Beverly (Ted) Jackson of Albion, WI, Janeen (John) Herman of the Town of Farmington, Edward Jr. of Louisville, KY, Steve (Marguerite) of Philadelphia, PA, Kim Engelmeyer of Oshkosh, Jon of West Bend and Michael of Midland, TX, 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by 2 sisters: Verna Hansen of Manitowoc and Iona Schmidt of Phoenix, AZ, her brother Sidney (Dorie) Davidson of New Berlin, a sister-in-law: Helen (Don) Beggan of Hartford, a brother-in-law: Joe Cechvala of Oxnard, CA, and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Enid was preceded in death by her parents David and Sarah Davidson, her husband Edward and 4 brothers: Justin "Bud", Arlen, Arden and Daryl Davidson.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church in West Bend with Rev. Jerome Repenshek presiding. Inurnment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, St. Michael's. Visitation will be Friday, at the church only from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Cedar Community of the charity of the donor's choice are appreciated.
