Mr. Fred Allen Mears Sr., 57, of Onley passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. Born in Nassawadox, he was the son of the late Hugh Nat Mears and Lillian Parks Mears.
Mr. Mears was a former law-enforcement officer of 21 years, working for the Accomack County Sheriff's Department and also the Parksley Police Department. He was currently an auto body technician with Smoot's Auto Body in Parksley and a member of the Parksley Vol. Fire Department and the Painter Vol. Fire Department.
He is survived by his son, Fred Allen Mears Jr. of Painter and his brother, George Mears of Exmore.
At his request, there will be no services at this time.
