Marie Winton | February 26, 1943 - November 25, 2022

Marie was only three months from being eighty years of age. She and Bob had known each other for sixty-four years and had been married for sixty-three years.

At the age of eighteen, she traveled with our little baby boy Tim to Italy, where she joined her husband for the next four years, where he was serving in the Air Force. During that time, we welcomed into our little family two daughters, Freda and Sue. Over the next ten years, Clint and Judi were added.

Remaining behind Marie are grandchildren: Rebecca and Kirk Winton, Seth Elliott, Jared, Justin and Jessica Farnsworth, and great-grandchildren Temprence, Gideon and Azalee Winton.

Marie was baptized into Christ in August of 1959 in Beans Creek, and was a member of the Lord's church that met in that community, and remained faithful through the rest of her life. Marie survived eleven brothers and sisters; of her twelve siblings, only Mavis now remains.

In 2004, she suffered the tragic of loss of Freda and granddaughter Rachel, who were slain in a home
invasion in June of that year. Our grandson Seth was also wounded in that sad event. Through the years, Marie underwent numerous major surgeries, a fractured leg and two broken hips. Through it all, she remained composed, setting a marvelous example of patient endurance. For the last several years of her earthly life, dementia gradually took possession of her physical body. The family happily aided her during this declining time, and were regularly at her side. At two-fifteen on the afternoon of November 25, 2022, her breathing softly subsided, and she quietly slipped into eternity. We are filled with happiness for her great victory.

Through her modesty, she thought she was unable to serve as a preacher's wife. She soon learned to fulfill that role in the Lord's church to an excellent degree. She made friends easily, and had many in all the places we lived. There is no way anyone on earth can know how many acts of kindness and
meals she served to countless people.

She told me that in her private prayers, she did not ask for anything in her own behalf, but for me, our children and grandchildren, and others. She was selfless. She will be sorely missed by her family, and by the countless saints who comprise the church of Christ, and by all of those who knew her well. So long for the time, my Sweetheart. [These imperfect words were put together by her husband, as he tried to see through his tears of sadness].
