Laura married Francis Watkins Michaux on August 3, 1860. They had Daniel Woodson Michaux in 1861, Susan Felicite Michaux about 1866, and Francis Watkins Michaux in 1869. That same year they were listed as members of the Lafayette Presbyterian Church by in New Orleans. The 1870 census shows the family living in New Orleans Ward 10. Richard was born about 1871, Gertrude in 1873, and Linda Michaux in 1876 in Saint Louis; she was the only one born there - family history has it that there was a yellow fever outbreak in New Orleans and that New Orleans was still recovering from the "War of Northern Aggression" as Grandmother called it. I have also heard that there was a relative who was a doctor there. Laura did have two uncles who were doctors, but I could find no evidence that either of them practiced in St. Louis. Larche was born in 1877, back in Louisiana. Larche's husband Francis died December 17, 1878 in New Orleans.
The 1880 census shows the family living at 332 Chippewa Street where Laura is listed as a widow and with her are children Daniel,18; Felicite,14; Richard, 9; Gertrude, 7; Linda, 5; Larche, 3; Martha Harris (Cousin) 21; and Henrey Harris, (Cousin) 23.
By 1884 the family was living in Houston, on New Orleans Avenue. A 1892 directory shows them living at 1612 McKinney Avenue, still in Houston. Laura died in late November, and was buried on November 30, 1894 in Houston. She is buried at Glenwood Cemetery.
