ZIMMERMAN – Margaret "Connie" Zimmerman, 93, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022 following a stroke. Ever thoughtful, engaging, and kind, Connie leaves an indelible impression on her family and community.
Born to Leny and Amanda Nunamaker Converse, Connie grew up alongside siblings, Jerry and Donald in Plain City, Ohio. She married her beloved husband, Tom, on February 19, 1949. They remained inseparable for 57 years, until his death in 2006. Connie had a long and meaningful career, including serving as Township Clerk for Darby Township – Union County, Treasurer of the Fairbanks Local School District, and bookkeeper for Sutphen Corporation and W.W. Williams Company. She was a dedicated member of Elizabeth Chapter #56 OES, Plain City for over 70 years, Past Matrons and Rebekahs. She also taught Sunday School and served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years at the Plain City Presbyterian Church, where she was a long-time member.
Following her retirement, Connie spent much of her time in her adoptive homes of Cape Coral, Florida and Tucson, Arizona. She cared deeply for her community, generations of barn kitties, and most importantly her family. Her absence is felt profoundly by her daughter, Deborah Kramer, granddaughters, Amanda (Andrew) Ferguson and Catherine (Brandon) Smith, great-grandson Benjamin Ferguson, brother Jerry Converse, nephews Tom Converse, Bill (Janet) Converse, and Rick Converse, and niece Becky Short. She thoroughly enjoyed getting together for lunch every month with her cousins, Bill (Elaine) Wilcox, Bob Wilcox, Ron (Bev) Wilcox, and Sue (Larry) Lowry.
She is preceded in death by her husband Tom, parents Leny & Amanda Nunamaker Converse and her brother, Donald Converse.
