Appalachia, Virginia, Mary Ruth Herron, 74, of Appalachia, VA, passed away on Monday November 28, 2022, at Lonesome Pine Hospital after a brief illness.
Mary was born on July 30, 1948, to Claude and Pauline (Wilson) Nidiffer of Appalachia, VA. Mary was of the Apostolic faith and loved to tell others of God's goodness. She would often stop and tell mere strangers of what God had done for her. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and children. She was the biggest encourager and cheerleader for those she loved. Always giving first the advice to follow God's word.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Pauline Nidiffer; husband, Jim Herron; sister Jamie Prichard; bonus son Donald Herron.
She is survived by her daughter Mitzie Lucero and Fiancé Randy Franklin; bonus children, James Herron Jr. (Lisa), Tammy Powers (Ray), Russel Herron (Marsha), Dennis Herron; sisters, Claudine Wilson (Johnny); Amy Burke (Danny); Brothers, David Nidiffer (Vicky); Tony Nidiffer (Linda); Steve Nidiffer; Grandchildren- Jaydin Lucero, Faith Herron, Caleb Herron, Brittany Bowman (Derek), Ageisha Powers, Rachelle Carrol (Cody), Shamber Schenck (Tyler); several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home, Appalachia, with services following in the funeral home chapel officiated by Pastor John Varner. Burial will follow at the American Legion Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Logan Franklin, Dustin Franklin, Cody Fellows, Kenny Burke, Charlie Burke, Brayden Huff, Hunter Huff.
