Angie Ellen Mary Bennett, passed away November 27, 2022, at the age of 101. She was born May 21, 1921 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Dr. Urban J. Busiek and Erma Marie Busiek.
She is survived by her three sons, Dr. Robert Urban Bennett and his wife Cynthia, Andrew Kurt Bennet and wife Sharman, and Steven Busiek Bennett and wife Karin Kay Kilpatrick; brother, Dr. Ewin Busiek; sisters-in-law, Jean Bennett, Valentina Bennett, and Mavis Busiek , Springfield, MO; six grandchildren, Robert H. Bennett and wife Daley, Ashley B. Jones and husband Carson, Ryan T. Bennett, Ellen E. Bennett, Eliza C. Troxell and husband Michael, and Sophia A. Somps and husband Andrew; seven great grandchildren, Liliane Jones, Cyrus Jones, Margie Bennett, Kathryn Bennett, Asher Troxell, Bennett Troxell, and John Somps.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kurt D. Busiek, and Dr. Paul J. Busiek; brothers-in-law, William P. Bennett and Herschel E. Bennett; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Busiek.
She graduated from Greenwood Laboratory School where she was Fair Greenwood her senior year. She then attended Drury College before transferring to the University of Illinois where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics.
Angie was very involved in her community. She was a longtime member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and a Deacon as well as being involved in multiple guilds and committees. She was a member of Phi Beta Phi sorority receiving her 75-year pin for continuing involvement and support. She was also a member of PEO. Angie was Chairwoman of the Greene County Republican Women's Association and the 7th District Republicans Women's Association. She served on the Greene County Library Board.
In addition to her community involvement Angie was committed to her family and friends. Bob and Angie shared 63 years of marriage before his death in 2009. She was committed to her sons and shared in each of their accomplishments as they grew. She rarely missed a tennis match, basketball game, football game or other event in which they were involved.
