Daughter of the late John J. and Ada (Weyant) Beahan, she was born in Poughkeepsie on April 8, 1950. Kathy was a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School (Class of 1968) and attended the Nursing Program at Dutchess Community College. She worked as a job coach for Putnam A.R.C.
