Adelaide (Lottie) M Cristiano, age 94 passed away peacefully in her home with her children at her side on 01 December 2022. Lottie was a devoted mother who valued education and family, and always put the needs of others before herself. Beloved wife of late John F. Loving mother of Lynda M. Cristiano, M.D., John J. Cristiano, and the late Sandra J. Hodges (Joseph W.). Cherished grandmother of Joseph J. Hodges, Bryan M. Hodges (Leah), Sam C. Vitali, DVM, John L. Cristiano, Alexa C. Rizika, and Caden F. Cristiano.

Lottie was a voracious reader and was dedicated to improving the lives of her children and others through education and service. She attended the University of Detroit and worked in a variety of jobs, including at Ford Motor Company and as a paraprofessional supporting elementary school children with special needs. Lottie will be deeply missed by her beloved sister Jean, sister-in-law Fiorita (the late Joe), and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including Betty and Ken.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elia and Italo Vitali, sister Doris, and brothers-in-law Gus and Fred.

Please join us in a celebration of her life. Family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, 2-8pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, MI 48073. A Funeral Mass is planned for Wednesday, December 7, 2022, 10am (instate 9:30am) at St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel, 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills 48304. Interment services will follow the funeral mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Southfield, MI

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made in Lottie's name to the University of Notre Dame, Department of Development, 1100 Grace Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46556; or to support pancreatic cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston MA.
