GREENVILLE -- Vincent Joseph "Wee" Maggio, 81, a production supervisor, died on heart failure at Delta Regional Medical Center.

Services are 3 p.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with burial in Gloster Cemetery. Boone-Wells Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mr. Maggio was a native of Oefalu [sic Cefalu], Italy. He arrived on Ellis Island in 1921 with his parents. They later moved to Greenville. He graduated in 1934 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic School. He worked at the Daily Democrat Times until his 1978 retirement. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and worked in the community as a lay lector.

Survivors include: wife, Doris: son, John Vincent Maggio of Indianola; daughters, Margaret Ann Conner of Jackson, Rosalea Brown of Ellisville and Mary Madeline VonAlmen of Metairie, La.; sisters, Minnie Greco of Greenville and Lena Mullins of Johnson City, Tenn.; brother, Sam Maggio of Greenville; and 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Building Fund or a favorite charity.
