Virginia "Doodle" Carr Byrd was the wife of David Oldham Byrd. Raised in Wallace, North Carolina she came to the Byrd farm after marrying her husband. They raised three children: David Jr., Mary Ellen Byrd Gordon, and Virginia Byrd Peurifoy.
David Jr. is an executive with Carrolls, Inc.
Raised at Oak Plain Presbyterian Church, both of the girls married United Methodist Ministers and went on to become Local Pastor's in the United Methodist Church.
