"Former Hazleton Young Man Died Suddenly Yesterday At Syracuse.
The body of Jules Benjamin, aged 32 years, a well known former resident of Hazleton who died suddenly in Syracuse, N.Y. yesterday, was brought to this city last evening by Bachman Bros. from Scranton, to where the body had been shipped. Members of the Benjamin family here stated last night that the funeral arrangements would not be completed until today, but that the burial would take place on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Benjamin dropped dead from a heart attack early yesterday... Death is thought to have been due to a heart attack following efforts to crank his car, the motor of which had been chilled by the severe cold. Mr. Benjamin was born in Hazleton and was the son of the late David Benjamin, stripping and contracting magnate who met an untimely end when struck by a mine car in the Harleigh strippings in 1915. He was educated in the Hazleton public schools, Nazareth Hall Military Academy and Lehigh University. He served in the aviation corps after the World War and was associated with the Benjamin Automotive Works in this city, later going with the Berkley Manufacturing Co. of Utica, N.Y. and then with the Group Parts, Inc. at Syracuse, for which firm he worked for some time. He was a member of Beth Israel Temple of this city and the B'nai B'rith. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sarah Benjamin, of 149 North Church Street, and the following sisters: Miss Florence Benjamin, Mrs. Norman [Edith] Hecht, Mrs. Samuel [Esther] Berkowitz, Mrs. Abe [Helen] Spoont, and Miss Janet Benjamin, all of this city."
