Keith L. Hammel, age 71 of rural Manitowoc, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Keith was born November 21, 1951, in Manitowoc County, son of the late Donald and Marilyn (Carsten) Hammel. He was a 1969 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On July 26, 1970, Keith was married to the former Rosaline Ansorge at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Over the years Keith was active in dairy farming from 1970 until 1982 and drove semi from 1982 through 2009. He drove as a seasonal semi driver from 2009 until the present. Keith enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and the Newton Volunteer Fire Department for 13 years.

Survivors include his wife: Rosaline Hammel, rural Manitowoc; four sons and two daughters-in-law: Steven (Pam) Hammel, Valders, Scott (Rikki) Hammel, Cato, Shaun Hammel (Kristy Kankovsky), MN, Stuart Hammel and his fiancé Jean Pankratz, Reedsville; one daughter and her spouse: Stacey Hammel (Emily Sipe), NE; 13 grandchildren: Mikenzie Hammel (Nasim Mohandes), Riley Hammel, Kendra Hammel, Ether Waskow, Deisel Hammel, Taylor Hammel, Toby Hammel, Carrisa Hammel, Erika Hammel, Lexi Hammel, Andrew Shimek, Vincent Shimek, and Lilly Kankovsky; three brothers and sisters-in-law: David (Diane) Hammel, Newton, Dennis (Carol) Hammel, Valders, Daniel (Ginger) Hammel, Valders; one sister and brother-in-law: Dawn (Tim) Radue, Valders; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by a loving a devoted grandmother: Elvira Sonnenberg; his parents: Donald and Marilyn Hammel; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edward and Pearl Ansorge.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev's. Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso will officiate with burial to follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Newtonburg. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm.
