James Heiskel (Monk) Ferrell

James Heiskel (Monk) Ferrell, age 76, of Rogersville passed away Wednesday morning, September 26, 2007, at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital.

He was a member of Spires Chapel Baptist Church, was retired from Dodge and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donald H. Ferrell; parents, Evan and Lily Ferrell; and sisters, Ruth and Bernice.

He is survived by his sons, James Douglas Ferrell of Jefferson, Maryland and Daryl Lynn Ferrell of Lusby, Maryland; daughters, Joyce Diane Harvard of Thornburg, Virginia and Mary Kathrine Ferrell of Lusby, Maryland; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Carroll R. Ferrell of Hyattsville, Maryland; sisters, Mary B. Kline and Susie Lee Slovack of California; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 — 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007, at Colboch-Price Chapel with Rev. John North officiating. Hawkins County Color Guard and the Tennessee Army National Guard will conduct military graveside services, following the funeral services, in Highland Cemetery.

Colboch-Price Funeral Home is serving the Ferrell family.
