Thelma "Teddy" G. Blake, 87, of Farmington, widow of Albert L. Blake, passed away peacefully Tuesday, (February 20, 2007) at Avon Health Center. Born in Augusta, ME, November 10th, 1919, daughter of the late Roland and Jesse (Simpson) Gillespie. She was the Salutatorian of the Class of 1939 at Gardiner High School in Maine. Thelma worked for the states of Maine and Connecticut and was later associated with Miss Porter's School in Farmington for 25 years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Farmington and volunteered at the Village Traders at the church. Thelma was an unselfish and caring woman who loved to travel and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her son, David A. Blake and his wife, Kim of Burlington, her daughter, Sandra B. Harty and her husband, Rick of Farmington; her grandchildren, Dave Harty of New York, Liz Harty of West Hartford, Mike Harty of Farmington, Dan Harty of Farmington, Garrett Blake of New Hampshire and Tyler Blake of Burlington; her great-grandchild, Clover Blake of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, George Gillespie. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt.4, Unionville, Thursday Feb. 22 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. in The Ahern Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Ned W. Edwards, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Farmington. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 279 New Britain Ave., P.O.
